The Near East Relief Orphanage of Syros Centennial Poster

This ongoing project researches the work the Near East Relief Orphanage of Syros in the 192os, and the lives of the personnel and orphans who lived there. In 2023 I was commissioned by the N.E.R.O.S. Project to illustrate a poster for their centennial exhibition, which also features in the accompanying book. This piece incorporates a landscape of the NEROS school, with overlayed portraits of its students, whose likenesses are based on actual students from 1920s photos. I also created 23 matching icons for use in the exhibition signage and maps.
